Free Resources on the Gender Debate

by Phil Gons on September 18th, 2007

free-resources-on-the-gender-debate.jpgThe Council on Biblical Manhood & Womanhood (CBMW) has launched a new website, which has a host of free resources available. These include articles, journal articles, book reviews, sermons, conference audio, and online books. They also have a new Gender blog, to which you can subscribe.

There’s a lot of great stuff here that you’ll want to make use of. I downloaded quite a bit last night and started listening to Bruce Ware’s lecture “Feminist Revisions of the Doctrine of God.” It is facinating to me how both complementarians and egalitarians are charging each other with revising the doctrine of the Trinity—and heretically so—to fit their preconceived view of gender roles.

Bryan Chapell Audio

by Phil Gons on July 19th, 2007

bryan-chapell-audio.jpgPaul Schafer at Reforming My Mind has put together a huge list of links to free audio sermons (and other resources) by Bryan Chapell (Wikipedia), President of Covenant Seminary.

Chapell is a gifted preacher and models well what it means to point people to the grace of God in Christ. If you’re not familiar with his Christ-Centered Preaching: Redeeming the Expository Sermon, I’d encourage you to check it out. The last two chapters were my favorite and are worth a careful read.

Check out Paul’s Chapell collection.

Thanks, Paul!

by Phil Gons on June 28th, 2007

Coalition SiteThe Gospel Coalition website has launched and has numerous helpful resources: articles, audio, and video from men like Bruce A. Ware, C. J. Mahaney, D. A. Carson, Thabiti Anyabwile, and Tim Keller.

The Gospel Coalition is a response to the tragic neglect of the gospel—the very heart of Scripture and the Christian faith—in so much of modern-day evangelicalism.

To find out more, check out this short summary of its core beliefs and purpose. For a fuller discussion, see the Foundational Documents.

Check it out.
