Reflections on 9/11
Today marks the sixth anniversary of the day the whole world knows as 9/11. Consequently, there are reflections and discussions circulating on blogs and news sites.
Here are some of the things I’ve come across:
John Piper writes about “Three 9/11’s We Need to Know,” 9/11/2001, 9/11/1857, and 9/11/20??. Abraham Piper points to several other resources by John Piper relating to 9/11:
- 09/12/01 Terrorism, Justice, and Loving Our Enemies
- 09/16/01 A Service of Sorrow, Self-Humbling, and Steady Hope in Our Savior and King, Jesus Christ
- 09/17/01 Why I Do Not Say, “God Did Not Cause the Calamity, But He Can Use It for Good”
- 09/08/02 Nothing Can Separate Us from the Love of Christ
Pulpit Magazine posts a Q&A article from John MacArthur entitled “Trusting God after 9/11,” where he encourages believers to face death confidently, face tomorrow hopefully, and face today actively.
Jeff Fuller points us to C. J. Mahaney’s message “Our Day of Infamy,” which was originally preached on 9/16/2001. The sermon is based on
Romans 12:9 and Romans 13:5.
