Bullet Points 09/10/07
Here are today’s bullet points:
• Ian Paisley to Step Down: Moderator of the Free Presbyterian Church of Northern Ireland will step down at the end of the year.
Ian Paisley, the First of Minister of Northern Ireland, had suddenly decided to step down as moderator of 12,000-strong Protestant congregation in January, after almost 57 years in charge. Retirement shouldn’t be far from Mr Paisley’s mind at the age of 81, but the circumstances indicated he may be jumping before being pushed by an unprecedented revolt among his most ardent followers.
• What Happened to the Twelve Apostles?: C. Michael Patton has a helpful article where he discusses how each of the disciples died.
I believe that the deaths of the Apostles increase the certainty level of the historicity of the resurrection to a level that is beyond excuse for disbelief. People do not die for lies, half-truths, fabrications, or hear-say information. If the Apostles truly died proclaiming to have seen Christ dead then alive and ascend into heaven, Christ is who He said He was, God incarnate who came to take away the sins of the world.
