Recent Discussion on the New Perspective on Paul

recent-discussion-on-the-new-perspective-on-paul.jpgThere’s been a lot of buzz on the web about the New Perspective on Paul (Wikipedia | Theopedia) in the last couple of weeks. Here’s a roundup of what I’ve come across:

Bryan Chapell at Resurgence: An Explanation of the New Perspective on Paul for Friends of Covenant Theological Seminary (PDF)

Simon Gathercole at Christianity Today:

Scott McKnight at Jesus Creed:

Rick Phillips at Reformation21: Holding the Line on Justification

P. Andrew Sandlin at Reformed Catholicism: What Did Simon Gathercole—and Moses—Really Mean?

Douglas Wilson at Blog and Mablog:

See also John Piper’s forthcoming book: The Future of Justification: A Response to N. T. Wright

For further study, you will, of course, want to visit these sites:

Update: Krister Stendahl’s (in)famous article is now available at The Paul Page: “The Apostle Paul and the
Introspective Conscience of the West.”
I have seen five basic groups with reference to the New Perspective.

  1. Those who wholeheartedly reject it.
  2. Those who acknowledge some positive points, but are largely not in favor of it.
  3. Those who have some reservations about some points, but are largely in favor of it.
  4. Those who wholeheartedly defend it.
  5. Those who know little to nothing about it.

I’m probably a #2. Where would you fall?

    Hey all,

I’m currently doing research about the general opinion of the iPad. What do you think about it?

It seems like not everyone is thrilled about the iPad. They say the iPad has been hyped too much by Apple and it’s not nearly as revolutionary as they make us believe it to be.
On the other hand there people can’t wait to get their hands on it.

What do you think about the iPad and it’s features?
