Salvation in Sudan
Scripture is clear that the new earth will be filled with a great multitude of worshipers that no one can number, from every nation and from all tribes and peoples and languages (Rev 5:9; 7:9). We are often not aware of how God is currently saving His people from all over the world. But it’s encouraging to read and hear that He is doing just that.
Mission Network News reports that God is saving many from the military in Sudan:
War-ravaged Sudan has seen more than 200,000 people die in the wake of the conflict in the Darfur region. However, Bible League has persevered through the trying times and sees hope in the area.
“Even in the midst of opposition, we continue to witness lives being transformed and salvaged from spiritual darkness,” said Dr. Mwaya Wa Kitavi, Bible League’s associate director of Africa ministries.
They have gained access to six army barracks in Southern Sudan, even though the commander was not a Christian. “But God–who is no respecter of any man–gave us favor,” said Kitavi. “As a result, more than one thousand soldiers have committed their lives to Christ, and all have been baptized. Praise be to God!”
